A very large percentage of Love of Lab's adoptable dogs are RESCUED from Animal Control &/or Humane Societies in the Midwest, especially from IN, before the dog's day of doom. We work with many shelters, especially in IN, to save as many Labs as possible from either being gassed to death or from being given a lethal injection to end their lives. Below are some of the lucky dogs that we have saved and have found wonderful, grateful, loving families.

My name is Molly. I'm the dog formerly known as Angel and I've had eight puppies and almost as many homes in the past three months. But now I have a forever home and am in a one man, one dog relationship. My man understands I am a Human Whisperer and that's why we get along so famously. I already have him wrapped around my paw. I get to sleep in the big bed and nap on the love seat, see what I mean? And if he gets strict I have other people and grandkids who will come to my rescue cause he knows there is a long line of homes that would love to have me as the resident yellow dog. He says if you look up puppy dog eyes in the dictionary my picture is there. I hate when he leaves but he always seems to come home and I can live with that.
vBOSCOv
Just wanted to share how well Bosco is doing! It has been a joy to welcome him into our family – he’s such a sweet, loving dog (he’s even won over our more adventurous cat!)….and he has definitely decided, in no uncertain terms, that this is his home and we are his pack. We have to keep a blanket in every room, because he absolutely MUST follow us everywhere and flop down where he can keep an eye on us and make sure we don’t get into trouble. If he gets to chase his softball, his day is complete (although we’re still working on the bringing-it-back part)….and he loves the adventure (and deer!) when we go out for our evening runs. He’s been doing amazingly well with his continued obedience training, and he’s just as mannerly and easy-going as he could possibly be. And when he lays that huge head in your lap….who can resist? J From all of us, thank you!

Hi ya everyone at LOLIN, Winston here just check’ in to say I’m doing great. I love my forever family the Turchi’s. As you can see from my pictures I’m the king around here. I mean I always win when we play tug-of-war. My mommy stays home with me all day so I don’t get lonely while my sisters are at school. But when they get home, I’m the life of the party. I mean its not a party until something gets stolen. My favorite hiding place is under the dining room table and it takes about 3 of them to retrieve the treasures I “discover”. I also really love my walks, 2-a-day. I just love to socialize with my friendly neighborhood dog society. I’m working on some new tricks but when they get the treat out I automatically sit down, give paw, and lay down, just in case that’s what they want me to do. I really had fun is the snow also; I just get so frisky and my sisters chase me around until my paws get numb. Well I’ve got to run, literally there’s a squirrel in the yard with my name on it. Bye for now, Winston.
vSUNNYv
I just wanted to thank LOLIN for allowing my family to adopt "Sunshyne"
AKA Sunny. Sunny has become a loving member of our family. She loves taking
early morning jogs with me, walking Michaela (8) and Patrick (7) to the bus stop
with my wife Nicole, playing in the yard, taking long walks and long car rides.
We feel fortunate to have found such a loving dog and thank LOLIN and her foster
mom Joyce for matching us up with Sunny.
vCOSMOv
It has only been a few days, but we are getting along very well. Cosmo is very much at home here and seems comfortable. We are working together on his obedience training, reinforcing what he knows already, and also learning new tricks. Perimeter training is new for Cosmo, but seems to be catching on, although we have a lot more work to do. Cosmo loves the snow but didn’t seem interested in shoveling. Maybe with more repetition, but I doubt it. He did get to help me open some Christmas presents, although was disappointed where there was nothing to eat. He tried out his new Kennel the other night. We wanted to see how he would do, so we went out for a few hours. My wife suggested we go out to dinner. The dog did just fine, I got the bill. I think the two of them were in it together. It’s pretty big and he has lots of room to stretch out. Cosmo likes to watch football and take afternoon power naps. He has a nice doggy bed where he can do that. He doesn’t sleep there. He sleeps with us. If he gets the hiccups, the whole bed shakes!! His favor game is tug of war and he is very good at it. He can really pull hard. The only problem we are having is that Cosmo just doesn’t understand how big he is. He literally will try to sit on your lap. I was skeptical when Mary told me this, but now I am a believer! He also jumps on people, especially when he just meets them. He seems to get so excited that he forgets his manners. We are working to stop this behavior and have a long way to go. We went to the vet yesterday and Cosmo is in very good health. He got a booster shot for distemper and something else, but doesn’t have to go back until May. He will get tested for heartworms and get more of his month preventative. Here in Northern Indiana, the vet recommends the preventative from May through November since our season is shorter and the mosquitoes are frozen by then. Cosmo is a great dog. We have become very attached to him in a very short time. We walk every day and he is learning his surroundings. He is very obvious when he wants to go outside and we have not had any accidents in the house. Lately he has turned into a good watch dog. If he hears something on the deck or front porch, he barks really loud. This is a good thing until last night he heard my daughter come home after we went to bed and he barked at her until he recognized her. Then he gave her kisses. By then we were all awake. I wish I had had him when she was in high school, then I would have known what time she got home. She is going to miss him when she goes back to IU. On our adoption application we never agreed not to spoil Cosmo a little. Good thing because I have a feeling that it is already started to happen….. We would like to thank everyone at Love of Labs for their understanding and cooperation. We never dreamed we would be able to get a dog this fast. I think you guys are a first rate organization and would highly recommend you to someone who is looking for a great dog.

Lacy has been a fun challenge but has become a member of the family. She loves chasing her ball in the backyard or swimming in Lake Michigan. Last time at the vet, she weighed in at 65 lbs. Here is her picture of her in the back yard tonight with what is left of her bone.
