Prior Special Needs dogs that have been adopted and HELPED financially by YOU!

LOLIN pulled all these dogs and have found or are in the process of finding loving forever homes for them.

Love of Labs has a wonderful reputation of taking in dogs that MOST rescues wouldn't dare touch, such as Duffy, Quigley, Mimi, Shamus and Abbey, to name just a few. We plan on continuing to do so, with your help.

Please consider donating to help us help the needy Labs.  Love of Labs does more than many other rescues, we try to help as all Lab and Lab mixes, even if they aren't LOLIN's dogs. We particularly love to help the Senior, the sick/injured, the BIG BLACK, the Heartworm positive and the Special Needs Labs & Lab mixes.

But, remember, we can't save them all, especially without your donations! It is quite evident that the economy is doing poorly, many more dogs are at the shelters and being dumped EVERYDAY, especially if the dog is sick or injured (just when they need the love of their owners most).  Labs CRAVE humans, plain and simple.  It is cruel to deprive them of  human contact, as they are at shelters simply due to most being understaffed.

If you want to feel like you've helped, truly helped and touched a dog's life, please mail a check or money order to LOLIN, PO Box 237, Noblesville, IN 46061-0237.  Thank you and it is tax deductible, as we are a 501(c)3 non-profit PUBLIC CHARITY per IRS tax rules.

Heartworm treatment is very expensive, ASK YOUR VET.....IT IS ALSO VERY HARD ON THE DOG.  These dogs must remain relatively calm and quiet for a few weeks after treatment to prohibit any health issues that may arise.  If you have ever wanted to help animals, please consider fostering a Heartworm positive dog!  (It is so easy, as they need crated for 24/7 pretty much, the first 2 or 3 weeks!)  Help us save a life just by fostering!

LOLIN and these Special Need's dogs THANK YOU so very much, we really couldn't do it without your help!

Our current Special Needs dogs:

Love of Labs is very proud to be able to help a few Special Needs/Heartworm positive dogs (a few are listed below) with your help....after all, isn't that what "Rescue" means anyway?  Of course we have lots of perfect dogs, too, if you are not the "Special Needs" dog-kind-of-person.  We have more dogs right now than we have ever had. LOLIN's entire intention is to KNOW that EVERY one of OUR dogs never go into another shelter anywhere again ...but only into your loving home here in IN and surrounding states. We'll not into numbers, but we are into quality forever homes.....

Sunny STILL NEEDS HER FOREVER HOME AS OF 04/10/10

Sunshine (WHY ISN'T SHE IN A LOVING HOME???)
pregnant at the freezing animal control 12/01/09

Sunshine found herself in a freezing cold (NO heat) animal control pregnant and frightened!  You'd be frightened, too, if you were pregnant and in a HIGH kill shelter that is freezing cold and dirty.  Her babies wouldn't have lived through 1 night. One of our WONDERFUL fosters just couldn't stand to look at this poor baby any longer, she just had to pull her and bring her in her loving home.....

A warm & safe Sunny in our loving foster's home on 12/4/09.....

Sunny looks much much much more comfortable in our foster Nancy's home, don't you think?  Doesn't she look good in pink?  She is ready to whelp any minute now.  Her belly is full of good food now, she's not cold, and she is an absolute doll.  We're asking for donations or for gift cards to good pet stores so we can keep her soon-to-be pups healthy and happy as she is now.  Had Sunny not been dangerously close to giving birth, we would have spayed her, but it is not safe for her....so we will spay her ASAP though, and her pups, too.  If you want to help our wonderful foster & Sunshine, please send check/money order/pet store gift card to

       COOPER 4/10/10

STILL NEEDS FOREVER HOME!!  He is just as sweet as he looks, too.

Cooper was just treated for Heartworms and is doing fine, he will be ready for his forever home NOW.....

      Harvey 4/10/10

STILL NEEDS HIS FOREVER HOME, Harvey is a great dog!

Harvey is a 3 yo gorgeous boy just waiting for you to bring him home forever. Harvey has Pannus which can go away completely or need treatment (drops & ointment) daily.

        Carley 4/9/10
HAVE no idea why this girl isn't already in a loving home, she is a great dog.

Carley is about a year old. She came into the shelter with her sister, Lucy. Carley is a very sweet girl as well as a quick learner. She loves people! She is a great dog who loves to please!

Carley is a lucky girl who has a new look out on life. She has been hit by a car that broke her front leg. It healed on its own and Carley can run and jump with the best of them. It has not hindered her spirit or her performance.

She loves to play with her foster brother and is just as content playing with her Kong toy. She loves to chew on rawhides also. She also loves to play fetch and take nice long walks.

Carley is a very sweet and friendly girl looking for her forever home! Carley is up to date on her shots, housetrained and spayed.

If you are interested in adopting , please go to our website at www.lolin.org and click on "Adoption Process" along the left-hand side. From there, you can submit an Adoption Application to be considered for this dog.

She is up to date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

    NOLAN (ADOPTED)

We did not feel Nolan should have should die because he had horrible owners that refused to care for him properly.
AGAIN, if people can't afford a vet, then they should NOT have a pet!

NOLAN'S SURGERY WENT JUST FINE, thank you so much for the prayers. He is in still in some pain, of course but also is on 2 different pain medications. We have started to receive a couple of donations, thank you so MUCH.  We need more help with Nolan's bill, though it is over $1,000. If you would like to donate please go here NOLAN, (click on the "SPONSOR" button at the top R side of page or please send a money order/personal check to LOLIN, PO Box 237, Noblesville, IN
                      46061-0237).

Nolan is now considered a 'tri-pod' (we have 1 other tri-pod dog needing his forever home as well) please check him out.  It is Tres' (Trey) he also deserves a wonderful loving home just like Nolan. It's is really no big deal to have 3 legs instead of 4, and doesn't even slow them down, they just need some to get used to only 3 legs. We believe Nolan is getting a wonderful forever home very soon. (Please say prayers and send good thoughts for our tri-pod babies.)

(ADOPTED BY THE MARTIN FAMILY 2/13/10)
(the pictures tell his horrible story ....)

    LADY & BABIES (ADOPTED)

This little girl and her 6 puppies were at the very same shelter!  But, we did NOT have any room for them until today. Unfortunately, one of the babies died before we could pull her and the babies.  We can NOT allow the others to die, so we made yet ANOTHER emergency rescue transport to Kentucky to pick up this sweetie and babies!  Our wonderful volunteers, Jean & Jon, have graciously offered their home to care for the pups and Lady, and this is NOT an easy job at all, but they do it for the Love of the Labs!!

These are pics from the shelter...they are safe now.  We'll have pictures soon from our foster home...

Keep watching here for how the puppies do {they should all be fine now, we hope....(again, we need good puppy food for the little ones)}.  They go through quite a bit of puppy food before they are old enough to be adopted.  They are only 3 or 4 wks old now....

    **UPDATE 12/6**

Lady is a wonderful Mother and her babies are doing well, our Vet has already seen Lady and her puppies to ensure their continued good health, the pups are now almost 6 weeks old, will be ready soon!

    **12/15 UPDATE Pic of Lady's puppies **

Lady has 4 puppies that are almost identical, 2 rough and tumble boys and 2 girls.
They are 5 weeks old and will be ready at 8 weeks.

    **UPDATE 12/30/09**

        NOEL 12/13/09 **UPDATE** NOEL

ADOPTED 1/17/10 by the WONDERFUL McDonald Family!!

She's gaining weight, she seems happy and follows us everywhere. She has a wonderful disposition and
couldn't be sweeter. She loves her "baby" hedgehog and grabs it first
thing in the morning even before she goes outside.

A couple of weeks ago when the temperature was 12, Noel wandered into a wonderful person's yard....these pictures are of her after we already had her almost a week.  She needs to gain at least 25 pounds. She was chipped and is 11 years old, but the owner information on the chip was not current.

We would love to meet the people (we're being kind in calling them people)...that dumped her....out in the cold weather, all alone just to die a long freezing death ..... Who knows how far Noel traveled...when she last ate.... when she was last warm, how she kept the coyotes at bay, IF she was ever really loved... I  am sure these people would tell us that they loved her so much, they just couldn't stand to put her down.....God forbid it might not be in their comfort zone....so instead they'll let the dog do the suffering instead of holding and loving her as she received the shots from a Vet helping her to cross over to the Rainbow Bridge....

Noel's foster states that she is improving. She still has quite a bit of
difficulty getting up and down but tries so hard. I think that may be
improving a little. Her appetite is good (3 meals a day and is ready
every time), and she drinks lots of water. So far, no accidents in the
house and she goes  out frequently. She seems to be content to
just hang out and is very laid back. She is starting to follow us
from room to room and I've noticed she wags her tail much more.
Initially, she would just feebly move it. She loves visitors and will
        greet them  warmly.

She is very social and enjoys looking out the
front door. She didn't bark at the mailman or the UPS man. She does
bark when you talk to her, as if to be talking back. She knows her
name, 'cookie 'are you hungry'(?), and cocks her head in response.  I
think she would like to play if she were more mobile b/c she has a fun
nature and disposition. She rubs her face on our hands and makes a
funny growl noise, like, 'pet me some more'.

Belle, on the left was our puppymill Momma, She is with her Daddy with their new best friend, Miss Daisy!!

      Adopted by the WONDERFUL Hartmans!!

Just because Daisy is 9 & blind SHOULD NOT mean she is unadoptable.  She is a WONDERFUL girl.

12/13, Can't anyone love this little girl???
MISS DAISY still needs her forever home!

      **SPONSORED BY THE O'MALEY FAMILY**

**written by current foster in Dayton that has 2 other blind dogs**

Daisy is doing great. We have yet to hear her bark. Our other dogs bark when it's time to go out or play ball, but Daisy doesn't. We've taught her to play ball (a ball with a bell in it). We throw it about 10-15 ft away. Miss Daisy hears it and then smells it. Once she finds it, she brings it back to him. We also walk her down the blacktop lane (1/3 mile) in the morning with the other dogs to get the paper. She sits and stays about 50 ft from the main road.

Beautiful Miss Daisy is 10 years old. Her 'parents/owners' were elderly and found their 2 dogs were just 'more than they could care for &/or afford'. Their other dog found a home first, so they gave that family the pen that Daisy & her sibling had lived in all of their lives. They were taking Daisy in to the animal shelter on 2/16 to put her down, after all, who wanted a ten year old blind dog?? She is a very trusting 90lb yellow lab. She is great with kids, dogs and older people. She is looking for a loving forever home where she can be spoiled and treated like a princess.

She has not had any accidents in the house. She'll want to be petted; puts her head on your lap. At night, while we're watching TV, she'll be with us and the other dogs. When we go to bed, one of our dogs comes up the stairs, but she sleeps down stairs with our other dog. She has figured out the dog door quickly and her way around. I don't think she'd be any problem for anyone wanting a special needs dog.

We think Miss Daisy would be therapeutic in two ways-- for her and for her owner.  Miss Daisy is amazingly resilient.

DAISY HAS BEEN ADOPTED BY A GREAT FAMILY NAMED BAILEY 12/20/09!!!

    **DAISY HAS HAD SURGERY**

11/24/09 Daisy is having quite a bit of pain, it appears one of the pins that were put in is very close to a nerve around her hip....thankfully her pins will come out in a couple of weeks.........Please continue to make donations and sponsorship, we have almost $1,350) of the cost ($1,800) raised now....We are being charged to TAKE the pins out, too.....We assumed that would be included, but that brings her total surgical bill right at $2,000.  Daisy and LOLIN want to think you for any help you can provide.  .

Daisy should be fine, her surgery went well.  She has to be kept quiet now for a while, so as not to re-injure her leg.  She is on pain meds NOW!!  The final cost for the surgery was almost $1,800, so we are still asking for donations and sponsorship for Miss Daisy. Please send good thoughts and prayers for Daisy to recover quickly.  Please send donations to LOLIN, PO Box 237, Noblesville, IN 46061-0237.

     Thank you so much !!

    Please help Daisy!

This is Daisy.  She is only 5 mos. old, spayed, has been kept up to date on shots by previous owners, and is micro-chipped.  Her back left leg is broken due to being hit by a car. Her owners asked that she be put down, because 'she'll just get loose again and get hurt and we can't afford it.' Daisy has 2 breaks in her femur, & will need 2 pins. We have a fantastic volunteer that is fostering her, but we have to raise the $1,500 for her surgery ASAP.  Currently they do not even have her on pain meds!!. We are picking her up tomorrow AM and getting meds for her ASAP.  Daisy is very sweet, has a great temperament, and seems to love everybody.  They do not have her on pain meds.  Surgery needs to be done ASAP.  Cost is ~$1500.  She is in excellent condition other than the broken leg and should recover nicely from the surgery.

Please help us raise the $$$ for her surgery.......she does really deserve to live and to live pain-free.

**UPDATE** ADOPTED by S. Pass on 12/13/09
      Annie Pass 10/20

An animal control in KY found poor Annie wandering around. They took her in and scheduled her to die ASAP, since she is 7 or 8 yrs old, BIG & BLACK!  She has 'cauliflower' ears, which means she's had repeated UNTREATED ear infections.  Annie had surgery on the left ear, which was a big hematoma and scar tissue. Annie is in one of our wonderful foster homes in Carmel. She is a lover, sweet, adorable, just wants someone to love her forever.  She could easily live 10 more years.  Consider making this girl smile by giving her a loving home...please. YOU WILL NEVER BE SORRY!

    DUDLEY 10/20

**UPDATE **ADOPTED by Gina W 11/21/09!!

Dudley has gone through Heartworm treatment.  He also has a prior injured leg and will need to be put on glucosamine (very inexpensive, the same stuff we buy for humans over-the-counter. We believe Dudley has been abused in the past, he certainly acted like he was when he first arrived at his new wonderful foster family's home.  He's come a long way and is a very very good boy, he is loving the LOVING he is receiving now.  :)

Sami 9/24/09 (ADOPTED BY the wonderful Mann Family on 10-12-09)

Sami is a sweet 4 year old chocolate lab looking for her forever home. She was dumped out in the country and a kind family took her in and are trying to find her a wonderful loving home. She is well behaved and a wonderful girl. She loves to play in the pond and fetch her pepsi bottle! She would make a great addition to your family!

*Foster update* SAMI's HEARTWORM TREATMENT IS COMPLETE and as you can see from these pics, she is loving life!! (Sami is o n Proin for bladder control, it is very inexpensive and NO BIG deal at all.)

    ANOTHER SPECIAL NEEDS DOG ~

    ***UPDATE 07/2/09 ***

Chance has found his forever home, thanks so much Clint, I know Chance is looking forward to spending his life with you!

Second CHANCE is here in Indianapolis 5/30

Please be a sponsor for Chance here (help us save many more dogs just like Chance).

We are pulling this poor boy from a shelter....You can see what his wonderful owners did to him.........oh, he is Heartworm positive, too.  Please pray for Chance to get here ASAP so that we can start Heartworm treatment on him.  And yes, thankfully, his owners are in trouble with the law!!

Chance on 5/30 on his transport up here from the South.

It appears he also has a straight tear in his ear.  Here is what one of his transporters said, "You can see a spot on his right ear--that's a hole!! (straight edges--not torn). We have NO idea how or why they did that to him. It's healed--but you could fit a finger tip through it--just horrendous that they could do that to such a sweet dog (or ANY living
    creature)."

More info re: his neck---he has some spots along the back of the neck too. The owner claimed he tried to keep Chance from running away (NEUTERING could have DONE THAT!), so he put in the clip--ran a chain around his neck & through the clip to keep him from pulling out of it.

The new foster and the transporter say he is the MOST loving, sweet dog in the world.

    Charlie

***Adopted by a wonderful lady on 5/15***

Charlie has had a really rough start to his life, but due to the caring staff at a really great shelter we work with, Charlie has been given a second chance at a new life of love, dog treats, and ear scratches!
Charlie began his life with an abusive owner who would beat him with a stick. Charlie was so terrified that when he got loose from that horrible situation he ran and ran. The animal shelter had to use tranquilizer darts to catch him. After that terrifying and painful start to his young life, Charlie's trust in humans was badly shaken. He felt threatened by almost everything and was terrified in the shelter.
The kind shelter staff saw past Charlie's fear to the wonderful kind boy who was inside. They've been working with him for months to restore his confidence in people. He's made a phenomenal turn around! You won't believe Charlie now. He loves to play with his canine friends (seeing him down in his play bow acting like real dog is amazing!), adores ear scratches, and is a big fan of the tennis ball. He is a Lab after all!
Charlie still has a fear of being trapped in a crate, so you don't have to worry about crating him. Because Charlie is still a little skittish with fast movements and lots of chaos, he'd do better in a family with older children, although he doesn't mind a pat from a little person if he happens to meet one!
All Charlie is waiting for for his happily ever after is a forever home where he can live the rest of his life with people who will continue to reward him for his trust each and every day. You won't get a greater gift than the trust of a dog who has had many reasons not to trust humans but has decided we are worth his love any way.
Luckily we pulled Charlie and he was adopted within a few weeks!!

Quigley 9/27/08 (Adopted by Caines 5/17/09)

September 28th, 2008
We don't know what attacked poor Quigley,

quigs

but he ALSO has severe Heartworms! We are raising the $300 to get him treated, he made it through this attack, we’re certain he can make it through Heartworm treatment. We are asking for donations for this poor boy. If you’d rather NOT donate, how about simply buying a few of our Cookbooks? This also would help the big sweetie and they’d make great Christmas gifts.

Duffey (A Tripod) ADOPTED along with Daisy by the Prusts!!

August 24th, 2008
We are very excited as we believe we have found Duffey & Daisy’s forever home! Keep watching here for more info. Keep your paws crossed! :)

ANOTHER Special Needs Dog - Duffey

Duffey and his sister Daisy were abandoned by their owner when they moved and left them at a golf course……. LOLIN is trying to find good homes for both of them, we’d love to have them go together to their new home (we have discounted their adoption fee if adopted together).

Duffey was born as a tri-pod. He does NOT use his front right leg and it doesn’t slow him down ANY. There is nothing wrong with it. He is just a little different. No need for any further treatment or anything, he just has a useless 1/2 leg. It sure doesn’t make him any less lovable.

These dogs are EXCELLENT, kind, loving, housetrained, and have impeccable manners, they were indoor dogs before, so not allowing them inside is even harder on them!

The absolutely adorable pair, Duffey (L) & Daisy (R), please don’t leave them OUTSIDE long……

They are out alone in the elements, day and night. They are being fed Ol’ Roy dog food. The golf course has gathered funds to keep them on Heartworm meds and Frontline +. BUT, they really need YOU. Please consider adopting these 2 sweeties, or fostering them, they are VERY VERY VERY good dogs. They will love you forever. Thank you.

    Duffy & Daisy

never had it so good! Duff (Special Needs dog) has a useless half front leg that he was born with. They had lived outside at a golf course for the last year before they were adopted by the fantastic Prust family. Their prior family had dumped them at the golf course, bet that family had no idea they'd end up being treated like royalty! Below shows Duffy's bad leg and where they used to live....

Gorgeous Maggie (ADOPTED by the wonderful Bendorfeanu family!!)

August 24th, 2008
It is so nice to see people stepping up for these Special Needs Labs. The economy has been so bad, we haven’t had many adoptions, this gives us HOPE to continue pulling the Special Needs and the Black Labs of Indiana. Thank you so much Bendorfeanus!

Mimi’s story is very sad. Her owners were an older couple and the wife had accidentally backed over her with a car while backing out of the driveway when Mimi was a small puppy, which severely damaged her right front leg. The veterinarian was able to save the leg, but it has a bent deformity in the lower portion of the leg, which does not appear to bother her at all. She runs and plays just fine and loves people as well as other dogs and puppies. The vets said there is no more that can be done to help Mimi’s bum leg. We have all of her medical records now and you are welcome to see them.

Shortly after her owners had her leg fixed, they were involved in a severe car crash and the woman died. Due to no one able to care for Mimi, she was surrendered to the shelter by, one of their adult children. This poor dog and her family have had a plethora of tragedies. Mimi really needs a loving home after all that she has been thru!

This is Maggie and her brother, Snickers. Maggie is doing great. She did hurt herself and have to go to the vet, her shoulder is not inside the socket. But no surgery needed yet.

"Maggie is using her bum leg pretty well.  Not a lot, but she does use it. She brings me her bone to hold when she wants to gnaw.  She can't use it for holding something between her paws while lying down.  Mostly because of the difference in length of her legs" ~ Maggie's new Mom.

Jewel Leflew/Williams

**UPDATE** 3/22/09 ADOPTED by the wonderful Leflew/Williams family.  Jewel was adopted with her best friend Louie!
(3/6/08) **UPDATE**Jewel's foster home LOVES this girl.  She's a ready-made-perfect-dog!  JEWEL is our latest Special Needs dog. Jewel has a Luxating Patella (a loose knee cap [NO BIG DEAL AT ALL].  She does NOT need surgery.)  She just needs regular exercise to strengthen her back legs AND to lose some weight.  She is just 4.5 years old, loves everything and everybody.  A very sweet girl whose owner was keeping her outside and was going to breed her, some people referred to her as a  "lawn ornament'!!  Jewel has been already been spayed, so she doesn't ever have to worry about having puppies AGAIN!

BO JOHNSON

Bo **UPDATE** ADOPTED by the fabulous Johnsons! 3/16/09

Bo is a KEEPER! He is a beautiful 1 year old Yellow lab who thinks he is a lap dog! He loves people and he is very smart and easy to train. He came to his new foster home knowing sit and down. He loves to take walks and he is a very gentle walker. Bo gets along with other dogs and he is housetrained and crate trained. He is up to date on his shots and is neutered. He is a very sweet super handsome boy who deserves his own loving home.

Bo has Epilepsy (TRULY NO BIG DEAL, medication is less than $30 a month!!) and he is seizure-free since being on  Phenobarbital. He is a healthy boy who needs a family to give him unconditional love and to make sure he gets his meds twice daily.

ANGEL 1/6/09 (UPDATE Angel Luebke 1/17/09)

Congrats on your new family member Luebkes!

Meet Angel.  She is 5 years old and a wonderful little girl.  However, she is blind.  (Pssst, don't tell her though, we don't think she knows....)  She gets along well with dogs, kids, cats & is a sweet loving little girl.  She had been banned outside.......we don't think anyone/thing should ever have to live outside, especially if they're blind.  We have a wonderful person driving to Muncie to pick her up this evening 1/6/09.  We'll have more information on her soon.

Angel is being spayed 1/12/09, we have her medical records.  She was hit by a car once, did NOT receive any broken bones or long term injury, thank God.  It was discovered at that time, that she had Heartworms and was treated.  She also then developed Blasto, which caused her to go blind.  AND she's only 5!!  She's a real good girl, loves attention and loves to play.

Please say a little prayer for her....she had been kept outdoors up until we pulled her and her fosters absolutely adore her.

Raven (L) - Raven is about 3 yos, sweet, loving, and adorable.  She has a forever family once we get her treated for her Heartworms.  She is in our 'Foster' program at this time and out of the shelter.  She would have died in the shelter if not for LOLIN.

**UPDATE**

We have treated Raven's Heartworms.  She is doing very well.
RAVEN went to her forever home today 122808. CONGRATS WILSONS & RAVEN!

Katie (R)- is 3 years old and also has Heartworms, but is out of the shelter and in our loving foster care.  We treated Katie's Heartworms.  She would have died in the shelter if not for LOLIN pulling and treating her.

**UPDATE**

Congrats to Katie Purvis on going to her forever home today 1/3/09!

Love of Labs, IN (LOLIN. INC) pulled baby Houston (L) from a kill shelter in GA. He was only 6 wks over and had a severe case of mange, which we treated and saved his life! We found a wonderful forever home for him in Chicago.  He's fine now (as the pic below shows) & has a canine brother, Chad (that is also a LOLIN alumni) & a sister (Cocoa)  that he loves.

Houston at his forever home . (Thanks Boinski's)

This was Bad News Bear (L). He has a great family now near Lafayette.

He had been kept on a chain outside his entire life. Finally, one day he got loose and he ran as fast as he could and unfortunately, in the direct path of a car. The owners were 'tired of messing with him' and told the vet to put him down, but LOLIN couldn't allow that.

Duke (R & below on the right, too) was abandoned in an empty house with no food or water.  He was INFESTED with fleas, and in a very unhealthy situation as he was anemic due to the blood loss from all the flea bites.  He could have easily died.  He is very loved by his wonderful forever family that we found for him.

Some neighbors were trying to press charges against his 'owner', we sure hope they did.......

Duke (he looks so handsome) and his sister, Sophie, in August, 2008.  Thanks so much to the Duff Family!

Buddy (L) was born blind but now has a wonderful loving home, after his owners turned him into a Humane Society at 8 months. But, LOLIN and his wonderful "Foster Mom" Kris kept Buddy until we found the PERFECT human guardian.  Buddy & Carin are very happy together.  Thank you Carin.

Love of Labs treated Maggie Mae (R) for Heartworms, & she has a loving forever home now.  We have treated NUMEROUS Heartworm positive dogs, which is something many other rescues simply will not do, it's just too expensive.  Maggie would have been put down if not for us.

Daisy (L) is ill right now, luckily she is with her adoptive forever family, please say extra prayers and and send good thoughts to Karen, Lori & Daisy.

Wonderful Lou (R) is going blind now due to Progressive Retinal Atrophy. Louie lived in a garage 24/7 before he went into the shelter and before his fantastic "Mom & Dad Dawson" adopted him.  Louie's "Dad" is in Iraq and his "Mom" is so glad to have Louie keeping her company.

Lily (Choco pup below) had been struck by a car, had a broken pelvis, broken leg and internal injuries. She was adopted by a wonderful Medical family, her "Dad" is an Ortho Surgeon and her "Mom" is an RN!  She has twin 6 year old human sibling. Lily& Pal both were pulled by Love of Labs in Kentucky and brought up to Indianapolis for fostering until we found their perfect forever home.

This family had already adopted Pal (Black Lab on L), another dog from the same shelter that had permanent hip problems from also being struck by a car!

Java had cancer and was left tied to a shelter in Chicago. One of our wonderful fosters, Karen, kept her until the time came, then they held her while the Vet administered the fatal injection allowing Java to be pain free for the first time in a long while. RIP Java

Lucy (L & below) was physically abused by her 'owners' in KY, she's with her forever home and happy as can be (below is a very recent picture). Lucy had a problem with her throat, POSSIBLY from trying to be 'debarked' Certain people (usually puppy millers) often push a lead pipe down their throat forcefully to 'kill' their vocal cords so that neighbors won't hear the puppy mill dogs barking......

Lucy is now Rosie and just look how BEAUTIFUL.

Quinn (R) had mange so badly and LOLIN was treating her, but she just looked horrible!  Her wonderful forever family adopted her JUST LIKE THIS!  WOULD you adopt this poor little pathetic thing?  They did and they just love her.  I hear she is just gorgeous now, we need an updated picture!

Love of Labs pulled Nala (L) out of a shelter right BEFORE she gave birth to her pups. We then found fantastic homes for all of the pups and Nala (after all were spayed & neutered)!

Some rescues take the pups but NOT the Moms.....they leave them to die in the kill shelters.

LOLIN pulled wonderful Rascal (R) out of a shelter right before he was to die. He was able to spend several good years with his wonderful human Mom before he passed on.  HIS WONDERFUL MOM  FELT BLESSED!

Love of Labs found great homes (after spay & neuter) for each of these lucky pups that we pulled from a  certain death in an Animal Control.

LOLIN also have had the best luck in finding homes for the senior dogs that were dumped just because they were old!  (RIP Sebass)

We pulled Angel (R) while she was actually in  her 'labor' (whelping)! We couldn't see new born pups starting out in a death house like the animal control that she was in.  Angel has a wonderful loving LOLIN approved home, too, just like all 8 of her puppies, after all were altered!

And as  you can see by this pic of Mari (L), we are NOT Lab snobs :), we've even helped a couple of cats find their forever home, too. Mari is now Stormy and lives south of Indy.

Abbey (below) was only about 2 or 3 years old but incontinent, probably due to a botched spay. Luckily her forever 'people' understood and adopted her anyway!  She's doing fine with some medication now and her new wonderful family.

These dogs, and many more just like them, thank you so very much!
